My work explores the intersection of material sustainability and individual expression through contemporary statement jewellery practice.
My Latest ……..
Who I am
Melissa : Jewellery Designer
For over 25 years I have been making and designing jewellery using stones collected and sourced carefully from all over the world, incorporating them with sea glass, gold, silver, copper and brass and, sometimes, with old brooches or other artefacts.
I enjoy working with ideas garnered from the natural world. The colours of the seasons dictate the colours used in making a new piece, as do ideas put forward by customers when commissioning pieces.
Finding new stones is a constant joy and excitement. Shape and texture are an important element in the finished design.

What I Do
Unique
I am drawn to asymmetry and will incorporate a beaten shape into the side of the piece as a accent making each piece of jewellery unique. I use recycled silver, gold and copper combined with semiprecious stones that I choose for their colour, shape and texture – more their character than their perfection. All the clasps are hand made by me making each piece of jewellery a personal statement. No templates, no mass productions – just a deep respect for the materials I work with.
