How do I care for my Jewellery?

Please follow these guidelines for storing and cleaning your jewellery.

Silver and stones

Silver and semi-precious gemstones may be washed in warm, soapy water and dried on kitchen towel or with a soft cloth.

The Bicarbonate of Soda method works well and is tried and tested.

  • Line a glass dish with aluminium foil
  • Add 1 tablespoon of Bicarbonate of Soda
  • Pour on freshly boiled water (the water needs to be boiling hot)
  • Drop the piece in
  • Leave for up to 30 minutes
  • Rinse and pat dry with a towel

Tarnish may be removed with Silver Dip. Try to avoid immersing stones in Silver Dip. Use a cotton bud to clean the silver area then rinse and dry.

It is best to store your jewellery out of direct sunlight in acid free tissue paper. Avoid spraying perfume etc directly on to your jewellery.

Silver used is recycled sterling silver usually purchased from Cooksongold as it gold, brass and copper.

Larger gold pieces are plated with 18kt or 24kt gold. Gold vermeil is a type of high-quality gold plate on a sterling silver base. It is more durable and long lasting than regular plating.
